In October 2025, intensive concert weeks took place with the Cleveland Orchestra under the musical direction of Franz Welser-Möst at Severance Music Center. The programme included significant works from music literature, ranging from Gustav Mahler’s Song of the Earth (soloists: Limmie Pulliam, Iurii Samoilov) to Johannes Brahms‘ Second Piano Concerto (soloist: Daniil Trifonov) and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony (with Joélle Harvey, Taylor Raven, Miles Mykkanen, Dashon Burton and the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus) to W.A. Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major with Garrick Ohlsson as soloist. Franz Welser-Möst and The Cleveland Orchestra also presented a new work by Tyler Taylor, the Orchestra’s new Daniel R. Lewis Composer Fellow.
On October 16 and 18, 2025, Franz Welser-Möst conducted the Toronto Symphony Orchestra at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto with a program featuring W.A. Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 (with soloist Bruce Liu) and Richard Strauss’s Suite from the opera Der Rosenkavalier.
